Carol Voisin, Candidate for Chair
I am ready to be Chair of the DPO for three important reasons.
First, I have broad experience of the Party across Oregon:
- I am the candidate who has experienced a run for public office.
- I am the candidate who has been formally trained to work with volunteers and have done so for many years.
- I am the candidate for ALL of the Democratic Party of Oregon.
Second, I see the DPO as representing all thirty-six counties:
- I will strongly support a 36 county campaign similar to Dean's 50 state campaign.
- I will contact county chairs at least once a quarter to listen and to ask about their important issues for our next meeting.
- I believe all decision-making and communications must be transparent at all levels of the DPO.
Third, in my first 100 days I will do the following:
- Share leadership with the vice-chairs so that our strengths are used wisely for all counties.
- Convene a meeting of County Chairs to meet with chiefs of staff of elected officials.
- Provide chairs training in precinct-targeting and/or what they need.
- Begin visiting all 36 county Democratic Party organizations.
Finally, I want to be your state Party chair because I believe in the power of volunteers and I am a leader who listens. I'm ready to lead WITH you and I am asking for your vote.
The DPO must elect Democrats to office.
