Field Organizing Internship

Do you want to get hands-on organizing experience and help elect a Democratic President in 2008?

Field internships offer a structured experience of working with the Democratic Party on campaigns that will decide the future of Oregon for years to come. Interns learn political skills that allow them to experience the results that activism and participation in the democratic process yield.

You will recruit volunteers, coordinate events, work with the latest campaign technology, and gain experience in a campaign environment.

Interns are needed at both the Lane County and Multnomah County offices of the Democratic Party.

You will have the opportunity to work on federal and statewide campaigns, learn about public policy issues and gain valuable political connections. You will work regularly with leaders of the state Democratic Party and affiliated organizations.

Work hours are flexible, but expect to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week from now through the summer or until Election Day (Nov. 4, 2008); internships may continue after Election Day.

If you are interested, please send a resume and your availability to Director of Operations, Alex Berke at alex@dpo.org.
