Jill Thorn, Candidate for Female Vicechair
I am running for Vice Chair of the Democratic Party of Oregon. I ask for your vote and support.
My priorities for the next two years include:
- Elect more Democrats in all areas of Oregon!
- Build 36 successful county party organizations. The Democratic Party of Oregon (DPO) has a responsibility to help accomplish this through training programs for party leaders, precinct committee persons, neighborhood leaders and candidates and providing funding mechanisms.
- Empower all DPO committees and CD’s to have a functional and useful work programs.
Now a little bit about my background.
- I served three terms as Mayor of West Linn and currently am serving my 3rd term as Chair of the Democratic Party of Clackamas County.
- I am finishing my term as the Chair of the Platform and Resolutions Committee the DPO where with the help of the entire committee we revamped and revised the process for developing the platform for the party. We have also revised the format and process for introducing resolutions for the State Central Committee.
- Previously I served as Chair of the Organization Committee for the DPO. In this role I introduced having an agenda and minutes for the committee meetings as well as facilitated the registration of delegates at State Central Committee meetings.
- I currently am employed by the City of Canby and a member of the AFSCME.
